Spider Webs

Spiderwebs can be such pieces of art.

Life at times can feel like a web too. Sometimes you can feel so entangled and all wrapped up in past and present decisions, contemplating future ones to make. A web of commitments of which the pressure can feel paralyzing.

When I feel like there is no wiggle room left, because I'm caught up in a million different things, I try to hold on to the thought that I always have the power to decide. Whether I decide to change course, or just accept whatever comes my way. There is always a choice even when it feels like you have no choice left. Sometimes the choice might be to leave. Sometimes the choice might be to ignore it all and distract yourself from the current situation. Sometimes the choice might be to surrender and ask for help.

Majestique spiderwebs like these ones were built one thread at a time. Just think about how many times a spider has to start over and build a new home. They might feel discouraged (yes I am schooled in the psychology of spiders) but they carry on anyway. Not thinking about everything their home has to represent. Not thinking about everything their old homes might have embodied. Rather, they look at how they can go forward now, in this moment, by just moving in whichever direction might seem right at the time. It doesn't have to be a linear way of moving forward. The web can be as wonky as can be and it can be made at whatever pace feels best.
No spiderweb is perfect and that's what makes them all the more interesting.

Just giving yourself the permission to move will already give you the tools you need to go forward, regardless of past commitments. Just take it one thread at a time.
